Ford Sync3 AM Issues

Having issues with my Ford Sync 3 unit.

Backstory - purchased a used 2022 F250 Powerstroke with the 8" screen Sync 3.

Since I purchased it radio didn’t work. Its stuck completely on AM I try to switch to FM it’ll immediately switch back and wont go to just about any other audio source. Same thing with bluetooth and even apple carplay its just fictiated on AM audio source. Purchased another Sync 3 headunit with apim off a same exact year truck same trim (XLT) and plugged it up (without programming) just to test and its doing the same thing. Will try and program it tomorrow and see if that does anything however wondering if anyone has run across this issue/possible fixes?

Ive tried resetting the battery, countless hard resets, checked fuses etc however nothing has worked. I can hear the other audio source for the split second it plays however it immediately reverts back to AM like I said.

The new APIM i purchased came off a truck with factory nav so going to try and get that programmed however not sure if it’s even going to work given the other issues I have expirienced.

No error messages

Not sure how your programming these APIM’s but you might try changing the AB on them and you might get better results.

You should download the factory OEM asbuilt for the vehicle and reload the APIM and ACM back to factory values.

Should I get the asbuilt for my truck or off the vin of the truck I got the new APIM from?

No, you need to program the APIM to be compatible with your truck.

Ah gotcha alright. Sorry for the dumb questions kinda new, appreciate all your help.

Just to confirm - Go to the motorcraft asbuilt website → download the file for my truck (from my vin) and load that into the APIM and ACM?

Yes. You only want to load the 2 modules. Do a master reset of the APIM after you load it.
