GPS does not work after updating

My APIM doesn’t have nav, but it did have GPS because the compass worked and the clock could automatically update. After updating the compass does not work and the clock settings tell me GPS is unavalable.

Have you master reset?. Has the car been driven after the update?.

If so, install 3.4.21265 instead…
There’s a known issue with latest builds on some NON-NAV APIMs…

Yes, it has both been master reset and driven many times. Will the version you suggest simply go over the top of the one that is already there?

Yes, you can easily change Sync3 versions… Just configure Syn3Updater accordingly…

If you have issues going to an older build you may need to free up some space → https://community.cyanlabs.net/t/topic/1984/1

Successfully downgraded to 3.4.21265 and GPS now works again, if a little clunky compared to how it used to work. Maybe did not have enough satellites to be able to work smoothly.

Give it a few hours or days to see how it behaves, I believe you also performed a master reset once it was done.

But as a recommendation, do not say you unit has NAV or GPS, since it makes it sound like your unit has navigation…

Yes, all APIMs are somehow GPS capable, but not all are NAV capable.

Anyways, glad it works. You will not be able to upgrade further though.

Is it possible mine is NAV capable and just doesn’t have it? I would not be terribly surprised.

An EU NAV has 64Gb of storage, a non-NAV has considerably less, it would be rare that one from the factory would be NAV capable but not have NAV enabled.
The interrogator can give you the model of the APIM so that you can look it up in the APIM database.

You have a better chance of winning the lottery.
