i changed from sync 2 to 3, when first fitted the unit the screen image was very good, i changed a couple of setting that did not affect the screen, i had read that after changing setting to do a master reset, after the reset the screen was grainy, i cannot find any settings to get the screen image any better, it was running an eariler version firmware of 3.4, now running the latest, although the firmware was updated after the screen issue
The asbuilt settings or software updates would not cause this. This is more of a physical issue with the hardware or connection for the screen from the APIM. You didn’t specify, but is this issue just on the cameras or with the Sync system displaying menus, etc.
Bad screen or a bad cable. If you had the module out it may not be plugged in all the way. Since this is a retrofit could be several things including a chinese clone APIM issue.
i have unplugged the cable and reconnected it still no change, the apim is 100% ford as it all came from a ford breakers as one unit, they also gave me the vin number of the car it came from, i will contact the seller for replacement. thanks for all your replies
