I got an error during the SYNC3 update and I can’t find a solution

I tried to do the SYNC3 update manually, but I got an error during the process and a red screen appeared. No matter what I tried, it didn’t work. I couldn’t figure out how to access the logs, so I wasn’t able to check them. I thought the USB drive might be the problem, so I tried with a new one, but I’m still getting the same error. Whatever I try, I keep encountering different errors.

SYNC Region: NA

Navigation Variant: Non Nav

Manufacturer Year: Pre MY20

Install Type: OEM

Old SYNC Version: 1.0

New SYNC Version: 3.4

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
Error in 1U5T-14G658-AH_1644006443000.TAR.GZ

Update Method: CyanLabs Manual Method

If you can’t use Syn3updater, then please share:

  • screenshot of the USB’s root showing files and directories created
  • screenshot of each .lst file’s content, these are located on the ROOT.
  • screenshot of the SyncMyRide folder’s content

Make sure extensions are shown.

Thanks.

That’s a Windows computer, why don’t you use Syn3Updater?.

Remove the grace notes and dab sentences from the reformat.lst file and try again.

As @SaNdMaN indicates, you can’t fit all that into a non-nav 8GB APIM, only the app and voice files.

As you said, I removed the gracenotes and dab lines from the reformat.lst file, tried again, and it worked. Thank you very much for everything.

By ‘all that’, is there a better way or an alternative method I can use to install more effectively?

You can use the Ford autoinstall, but it is the same process. There is no other method.
