… Upgraded from 3.0 to 3.4. Update seemed to have gone fine. However have error message on Navigation. Navigation does now work at all.

Clarify something: you say the install went ok, but no maps.
But you are also saying you got/get PKG_ERR04.
This combination makes no sense.

So please clarify the current status of the unit.
Also, have you performed a master reset?.

You can’t have the same issue, since you are not using reformat nor have a nav unit. Create a new thread with whatever your issue is.

Hello Cyanlabs team,

I am new to this group but I have been following the different threads for a month, since I wanted to update my SYNC 3 from 3.0 to 3.4, my vehicle is of American manufacture, but I imported it to the Dominican Republic and I wanted to update it with the Fila maps.

Everything updated fine but it gave me the error PKG_ERR04, I did the master reset but and now it gives me the message not to remove the USB that something is missing to install.

I tried changing the rule to 4452 with ForScan following the instructions from the ForScan community, but I still don’t see the version of the maps installed and the browser doesn’t work.

I will have to go back to a NA version with the American maps as it was before in version 3.0

I would appreciate any help from this great community.

Just to clarify, are you currently on 3.0 or did you already upgrade to 3.4? The PKG_ERR4 error means that the package was revoked (which makes sense if you are trying to do a downgrade install method on 3.0)

If you are currently on 3.0, then you have misconfigured the app. Please set it up like so:

Make sure to select your USB in the second screen. This will reformat your system to the latest 3.4 with ROW maps. Since you changed the region on the APIM already, this should work.

If you are already on 3.4, I can provide a few other suggestions.

Thanks for the prompt attention to my situation @avdonr I am currently on 3.4.20351 ROW and the map does not work for me, every time I start the vehicle it gives me the message not to remove the USB that there is still something to install, but no what it refers to.

I have already done the downgrade method several times and the master reset but it still gives the same message …

I created the USB interrogator, and I saw it in SYN3Updater and everything looks.

The reformat.lst file (according to the log above) is incorrect and is set to install everything twice. This might be where the error originated. Start over with the installation, downgrade first, then reformat to 3.4 with maps. Make sure the reformat file only lists the file installs only once…

At the top of the pic, the configuration for your vehicle is 3.4.20351 with nav. Region ROW. This is correct.

For the NEW Version, The region is correct, but change the new version to 3.4.21020 and keep the ROW maps. 'Downgrade" is the correct option. This will remove Gracenotes and downgrade to 3.3.19052, then will use the reformat tool to reformat (upgrade) to 3.4 with maps as selected.

The unit will reboot and be at 3.3.19052. It is important that you let the installation continue on it’s own, do not remove the USB drive until you see the green screen at the end and the message to remove the drive. This will take a while.

Following their instructions no longer gives me the Code: PKG ERRO4 but it still does not show me the maps, here are some screens to see if it helps with the solution:

The Syn3 Updater will currently not work for this application, as it only offers the -FAH map file and license. I will send you instructions…

There is some confusion here. FAH is the full package. No need for other packages in addition. Look at the file size and look at the description of FAH and the smaller description of each other package
