I always updated with factory files. When I got an error I read several posts on this forum and asked for help to repair the maps. Sync updates are fine via pen. I’m Portuguese and I don’t know English well. Thanks
I just looked at the autoinstall.lst file for an EU F10 update and the flies that are messed up are in the 2nd section of the autoinstall. It looks like the usb was pulled before the installation was completed.
If you have not done so, perform a master reset in Sync and reboot the unit. The unit is presently in a partial installation mode.
You have a Ford packaged installation on a usb presently? If you still have it, place the usb in the hub and see if the installation will start again after the master reset.
If this fails, you can use the Syn3 Updater to reformat the unit and perform a complete re-installation of the Sync app, voice, maps, etc., or…
Use this autoinstall.lst file attached in place of the one currently on the usb in the Ford package. autoinstall.lst (1.1 KB)
The contents are cut down from the Ford package but it will install all the maps and nav voice files. Contents:
; SYNC3 Consumer Application Upgrade - Release 3.4.21194 - Only for Nav/EU assemblies.
EU maps take about 90 minutes. The vehicle ignition must be ON the entire time. It is best just to take a long drive! Or use a vehicle charger. DO NOT leave the vehicle unattended.
I’ve made several attempts with the new maps on the pen, but it always gives MEM_ERROR1.
I wanted a file that would erase the maps and then install the new ones.
This is possible e not dangerous?
Thanks
Performing a master reset
Start your vehicle. Ensure your vehicle is in park and running, not in accessory mode.
Press Settings on your vehicle’s SYNC screen.
Choose General.
Scroll down and press Master Reset.
A message confirming that all system settings will be erased and reset to factory defaults will appear.
Press Continue.
A Resetting to factory defaults message will appear, the system will turn off and the screen will go blank. It may take a few minutes for the system to reset and resume normal operation.
This will clear all contacts, phones, etc., but clear the storage of temp files to clear space.
