Issue with 2018 Ford Explorer Sync 3

Hello All
I am dealing with an issue with my 2018 Ford Explorer XLT. It has Sync 3, version 3.0.17276
The APIM keeps glitching; sometimes it starts up really slowly, sometimes it doesn’t start up at all. I have done a factory reset on the APIM, and disconnected the negative from the battery for 20 mins both unsuccessful in fixing my issue, as well as changing the fuses to the APIM. My next step is updating my software since it is so old. Ford’s website isn’t giving me anything for an update, and I just want to clarify if 3.0.20204 is the newest update I can use for this explorer? And if I have to do that as a manual download, or if I can use the autoupdater for it? If you have any other ideas to fix my problem, I would greatly appreciateitt as well.

SYNC Region: NA

Navigation Variant: Nav

Manufacturer Year: Pre MY20

Install Type: OEM

Old SYNC Version: 3.0.17276

New SYNC Version: 3.0.17276

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
No

Update Method: Official Ford

It really looks like a dying APIM, but there might be some hope.

First of all, run the Interrogator utility in the Syn3 Updater. Post the xml file here.

Files are available on this site for the Latest Sync 3.0 update. Sync 3.0.20204 and 3.0.23219.

I agree, sounds like a hardware issue.

About the master reset, does it actually work? I mean, does it erase data?. Do you see any improvement?.

You can try installing the latest 3.0 build to see how things go, you could also attempt installing 3.4 which will reformat the unit. This could either hide the issue, do not resolve the issue or just kill the unit if it’s defective.

As said before, produce and share the XML interrogator log file to see were the unit stands.
