Hello, my name is Ekkehard and I live in Germany.
My 2017 EU Mustang convertible ecoboost has the latest software version Sync 3.0 built 23219, map version EU 4.14.
I had already planned to use the Sync Updater to install a new version with the latest map version.
Two days ago, after two months, I was unexpectedly offered a software package called “Map_9829685873_Update” for download from the Ford website.
Which irritates me is that [SYNCGen3.0_3.0.20204] is displayed in the autoinstall.lst file, even though Sync 3.0 built 23219 is installed on my Mustang.
I couldn’t find JR3T-14G422-BJ in the Synclab database.
Is this a map file?
SYNC Region: EU
Navigation Variant: Nav
Manufacturer Year: Pre MY20
Install Type: OEM
Old SYNC Version: 3.0.23219
New SYNC Version: 3.0.23219
Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
no message
JR3T-14G422 based on the number is an updated NAV voice package.
If you didn’t update to 3.0.23219 via the download for your VIN and then upload the log to Ford they will continue to show the last version they received the log from.
If you update to 3.4.x with the updater Ford will never show you on 3.4 even if the car goes into a dealer for work and they connect via IDS as you’ll no longer be on a supported version of Sync3.
I downloaded the sync version 3.0.23219 with VIN information from the Ford website and successfully installed it in the Mustang, then uploaded the XML file. The website and the car show the current sync version as
3.0.23219. See screenshot.
Up to which sync version is the 2017 Mustang officially supported?
The maps will never install this way. There is only the Nav Voice file included. There is no Map file, which would be JR3T-14G421-BJ, and no map license file, JR3T-14G424-BJ.
Yes, but you didn’t ask that…
HB5T-14G371-FAG is NOT MY20+, so you could just use the Syn3 Updater. Just update to the latest Sync app and maps. You CAN use Sync 3.3 but keep in mind it is probably not optimized for the F13 maps. You MAY have issues with the voice control and directions.
