Good afternoon, I get error ā€˜LST_ERR05ā€™ when trying to apply the update using ā€˜reformatā€™ (going from 3.0.19205). Any idea what the problem might be?

Btw, Iā€™m in the process of re-downloading the update in-case thereā€™s been a corruption.

At which point do you have that error?.
Is there any other device (sd card, sd card reader, phone, usb) connected to any other port in the car?.

It errors after the initial ā€˜Do you wish to proceedā€¦ā€™ message. (Apologies, I didnā€™t note the wording.)

No USB devices or SD card were connected, but I think my phone may have connected using bluetooth. I wonā€™t make that mistake again :slight_smile: .

Iā€™ve been Googling, and I have seen similar issues with Sync3 generally, and it mentions that the only files in the root of the drive should be autoinstall.lst, DONTINDX.MSA and the SyncMyRide folder. Mine also has reformat.lst (which is run through autoinstall.lst) so I presume thatā€™s ok. However, it also had the log.txt file. Iā€™ve removed that from the drive and stored it on my PC.

Iā€™ll retry the install tomorrow.

Error is that a package is not being found.
About the USB structure, as long as you created it with the app, donā€™t worry about it.
Try a different USB stick just to be sure, also try a different port.
Again, make sure nothing else is connected to a port, not even your phone (BT I would think itā€™s ok)

Yes, the update was created through the App.

Iā€™ve had a quick look through the various archive files, and the file names all seem to be correct and present.

I will try updating it using the 2nd USB port, and if that fails I will try a different type of USB drive.

Another question, since Iā€™ve just noticed it: are you using an USB stick or drive/disk ?

The description in the log says the unit is ā€œUSB DISK 3.0 USB Deviceā€, no brand, which seems generic. If you are using an externa HDD thatā€™s not recommended, you better try a simple USB stick, a branded non-generic one.

Extra files do not matter at all. DONTINDX.MSA is also not neccesary as it just tells the car to not index the media on it DONTINDX literally meaning DONT INDEX

I was using a USB 3.0 stick (Brand: PNY) not an external hard drive, but your advice to try using a different USB connector worked. The update was successful in under an hour for the full EU package.
