Hi All
I have searched previous topics on this subject, but not winning for a solution.
also… When i try “Master Reset”, my unit just freezes.
AND, When i switch my car on, Sync asks me about automatic updates EVERY TIME. Even if i confirm, it still asks me the next time again).

Hello.

What you are describing suggests you have an unhealthy APIM.
But, lets check what’s on the unit: create and run an interrogator log against it, post back the results.

Have tried the downgrade option on the Updater Tool, and i get now ERR08 .
(I managed to remove gracenotes before trying the downgrade)

Well… this is turning into a gray area…
APIM seems fine, lots of free space, nothing that would trigger a MEM03 error.
This keeps pointing to an unhealthy APIM.

Since you are using a Sandisk USB pendrive, that does not seem to be the issue. But you can always try another drive to see if that makes a difference.

If you have a 2020+ APIM why would you do a downgrade option with the updater tool? Seems your APIM is toast.

I’ve just noticed this… use the stable version…
Not that it would matter, but use the stable version now…

You are making things harder on yourself… error is not based on free space, so removing GN won’t help…

Re run the interrogator log to see where we stand…

I thought by downgrading, it would give me an opportunity to do a master reset. Master reset freezes the system

Other than removing the fuse overnight, I do not know what else you could try.
Do you have forscan and an adapter?, I think you can force a reset via Forscan (not 100% sure though, or if it even work on yours).

Try holding down the power and fast forward button to see if that will restart it.

I’ll try the fuse option, thanks.
Dont have forscan and an adapter im afraid.
Its still under warranty, so may need to try that route…

In your installation in the first post, the files do not match what you presently have installed in the unit. If you have a mixture of different version files, this can cause issues with the system, especially the navigation files. This looks like a failed installation from the start. No wonder you have issues.

You need to install the proper maps package:
4U5T-14G421-FAK 4.9Gb Sync3 v3.2. 22245 CAM (21Q4), Caribbean (21Q4), India (21Q4), Israel (21Q4), MENA (21Q4), SAF (21Q4), SEA (21Q4)
You have the space to install the entire package, you should do so.

DO NOT downgrade your APIM to Sync 3.3. It is not necessary, and if you have a 10" screen you will have issues. You don’t state what vehicle or year this is…

5346 is SOUTH AFRICA. You are trying to install this map from the -FAK package. This was not successful. You presently have the -FAF package installed with a later license.

Thanks, but what do i do if i keep getting the MEMERR03 Error when trying to install?
The navigation installed is straight from the Sync3 Updater tool for South Africa.
So should i just try update the maps only perhaps?

MAPS currently doesnt work in the can. Clicking on Navigation just does nothing.

Would love to just reformat the whole thing, but need to keep my warranty.

Here is the issue with your APIM, you have no space left in the /fs/rwdata partition, therefore the APIM cannot process updates or save data settings. Since you have a MY20 APIM you cannot reformat the unit to fix it. There is nothing you can do to recover it without either a reformat or jailbreak.

Take it in to Ford Service and get a new one.
