Mem_Err01 when try ing to update to latest map version

As stated in the documentation, many bug’s can occur without a master reset.

Update: still busy With upgrading went through fitst reboot cycle can see under Settings automatic system updates That the system is updaten today at 11h42. After the first reboot cycle I got thé notification that the system was updating which disappeared after a while. I’m now 1 h20 into this cycle with out anything happens. Do I quit the installation or let it continue? Feature request is there a possibility to get a progress bar included that would be a great feature

If you are not using a reformat install and are EU you will be looking at like 1.5-2.5 hours

These are not my packages, these are fords, I can’t add a progress bar

Well I think something went wrong I’ve been on the road for 4 hours and Noticed that my volume up and down was not working also removing the usb drive didn’t throw me an error message. Navigation is working without the voices at this point.

this is my interrogator log
Sync_NZ2V01F4_WF0FXXWxxxx.xml (11,1 KB) where it seems that it did the install but does not show it in the menu’s which is confusing

After restarting my system the navigation voices was back

Thank you for the log, that was what I was going to ask you to do.

Well, that’s the issue with autoinstall, it’s a bit troublesome sometimes…
From what the interrogator log shows, you are almost there since most of the MAPS packages are J.
Exceptions are 1U5T-14G421-BAH and 1U5T-14G421-BEH.
So it seems that the very last part of the autoinstall.lst file was not processed.

So this is what you need to do:

  • perform a master reset just in case
  • recreate the USB as before, but only selecting the files described in the last section of the autoinstall.lst file. Include the MAP license as well.
  • run it again

Again, you are mostly there.

master reset is done
so basically I remove section 1 and 2 from the autoinstaller save that file.
what is the purpose of section 1 and 2 just so I know what to do the next time.

secondly if I remove all the files from my usb drive with the exception of the files mention in 3 i’ll be good to go as well.

and is this going to take another 2 1/2 hours aswell or will this be shorter since we are almost where we want to be?

Yeah, I didn’t think of editing the lst file, i guess you can do that as well.
LST files has multiple sections since there are a limit as to how many files a section can process.

And no, since you are only processing 4 or 5 files, it won’t be that long.

Installing those files, which seems to be installed

Does not really matter if you delete the files from the USB.
If the LST file does not reference them, they won’t be processed.
But if you delete them, you need to remove their references from the lst files or it will fail due to “file not found”

Shorter, since you are only processing a handful of files

this is now my autoinstall.lst

is this correct?

Looks good

The same reason you have to reboot any computer device once its had a software change

To clarify, a Master Reset isn’t really needed for a autoinstall only a reformat

Tried to update again with the above mentioned files again lost the ability to increase or decrease volume it got stuck again. Restarted my car and reinserted the usb drive now at least it’s showing updating system software. Currently for about 30 min hope it doesn’t take 2 hours. Really wish that ford would integrate a progress bar that would be really helpful. Especially since they are able to show this when you upgrade over wifi

Update installation now succesfull and I’m now on version F11 with my maps still on the same Sync 3.4 version.

Question what would be the advantage to move to the most recent version of Sync 3.4?

If you are on 3.4.21194, there are some items fixed in 3.4.21265, but I would not recommend later versions as of yet. It is a simple autoinstall for the Sync App only.

Glad it worked!.

Just keep in mind that since Ford does not know you’ve updated, you can no longer trust whatever Ford pushes your way.

Also, make sure you installed Gracenotes, since you removed it before.

for the installation of the gracenotes I’ve downloaded this file
4U5T-14G423-AC 689.04 MB EU
my autoinstall.lst looks like this

; CyanLabs Syn3Updater 2.11.1.0 Stable - Autoinstall Mode - Sync 3.4.21194 EU

[SYNCGen3.0_ALL]
Item1 = MAP_LICENSE - 4U5T-14G423-AC_1615425645000.TAR.GZ
Open1 = SyncMyRide\4U5T-14G423-AC_1615425645000.TAR.GZ
Options = Delay, Include, Transaction

does this seem to be correct for the EU version of the Gracenotes, I’m located in Belgium

Nop, it’s wrong since map license is described.
I would create the USB with Syn3Updater, selecting only gracenotes in packages and keeping maps. That will create the lst file with a single file described.

map license is my mistake I just wanted to add the gracenotes one and overlooked that maps was selected.
If I select maps then it’s going to download all the files again which I ideally want to avoid. the gracenotes file is just 700 MB which is peanuts.
and my autoinstall.lst should look like this

; CyanLabs Syn3Updater 2.11.1.0 Stable - Autoinstall Mode - Sync 3.4.21194 EU

[SYNCGen3.0_ALL]
Item1 = Gracenotes - 4U5T-14G423-AC_1615425645000.TAR.GZ
open1 = SyncMyride\ 4U5T-14G423-AC_1615425645000.TAR.GZ
Options = Delay, Include, Transaction

Options = Delay, Include, Transaction

then it should work aswell right?
