Missing parking lines and dynamic guidelines

There is the possibility that this is a camera issue since the lines appearing are driven by the camera firmware.
This happening when someone buys a third party camera instead of a true Ford aren’t uncommon, it may be that you just have a bad camera.

It is the original camera so I’ll look into getting another to test it.

@warlock12118

Swapped the camera with identical part number from same year model focus, still not working.

ok, so if there haven’t been any new changes to the car for anything this gets down to a module or wiring problem in the car.
The fact that you don’t have a LIN showing is strange, what are you using for an OBD2 adapter?
Do you have any DTCs showing?

@warlock12118

I have the recommended Vgate Vlinker FS cable. Only DTC has been present the entire time which relates to the ACM.

U0100 - Lost Communication With ECM/POM
U201A - Control Module Main Calibration Data

I changed my original ACM when I did the Sync 1 to 3.

The only reference to LIN I’ve ever been able to find is in the RVC type. It has always been CAN but I can choose LIN. I did that temporarily, took it for a drive as the manual recommends and it didn’t do anything or give me a LIN calibration function after that. Because it has always been working under CAN I switched it back.

Do you think if I install the latest public release version instead of the latest beta I might then get the LIN new module initialisation option?

Installed the latest and still no service procedure for LIN.

All Forscan versions are beta.

@warlock12118

By Beta I mean 2.4.11 beta instead of 2.3.63 release.

I’m going to chime in here but unfortunately not with any positive information I’m afraid.

I did my Sync 3 upgrade from Sync 1 on my 2013 Focus (pre facelift) with OEM reverse camera.

I have never been able to get the dynamic parking lines to work with Sync 3. I have tried countless coding combinations, APIM firmware is up to date with MY18 firmware, PAM is up to date.

Symptoms are exactly the same as yours but I have never had the lines appear on Sync 3. If I start the car in reverse I get the lines but they disappear after a couple of seconds. SAPP works, I get the blocks, beeps work, overhead glyph of the car etc - just the dynamic lines.

If you manage to get it working, let me know!!

Thanks @dontpannic

Do you have the static lines?

I’m tempted to revert all my other changes back to the original AsBuilt I have for when I did the conversion. I have a note of other things I’ve changed so I guess that’s worse case for me.

I’ve had them working since the conversion so it’s definitely possible. I’m looking at everything again.

If I get it to work, I can send you the AsBuilt I used to get it up and running.

Interconnect New Module Calibration and camera calibration, followed by BCM and APIM module resets is the typical way to fix this.

Note: Do make sure you are calibrating the camera outside and not up against a garage wall, etc

@MiamiGT350

Thanks for the reply. The issue I’m having is I don’t have the LIN module service function in ForScan for some reason.

I’ve tried public release version and beta version.

Not yet. He works remote now and I forgot when he said he would be back.

Ok. Hopefully he will read this at some point. I’m guessing I need to go to the dealership and see if a service tech can do the LIN new module for me.

@bill32399 @warlock12118 @MiamiGT350

Hi again.

So I’ve researched various professional scan tools as well and it appears that LIN New Module Initialization is for petrol variants of focus’s.

I spoke with a tech and can confirm his Autel MaxiCOM MK808 doesn’t have the LIN function for diesel.

Are there any ford techs on here that can confirm whether FDRS or IDS has this function for diesels??

Thats odd as to why Ford would make a whole different system for Deisel vehicles.

Just got this back from a ford tech
“ It’s not in the bcm or apim for the camera. It’s in the ipm (image processing module). Go into lPM and do LIN module install. It will reconnect it

I’ll give it a go in the next day or so and report back.

Not terribly surprising considering Ford engineering can’t even keep simple things across model families, best example of this is the whole Global Open/Close and the frost tell tale on the cluster of the Escape/Kuga and the Fusion/Mondeo.
Gets factory enabled on EU vehicles, but not on NA, while other manufacturers like Toyota & Nissan keep it the same across markets.

No luck. No service procedures for IPMB only AsBuilt which when I load Factory AB tells me no changes, but I do notice that every other module has my correct VIN yet the IMPB has VIN 0123456789-nopqrstuvwxyz
