They appear if I start the engine and immediately shift into reverse, but disappear.
I get the reverse camera, the top down icon of the car, and the grey blocks at the bottom of the display which change colour when you get close to an object.

Hi, had the same issue with my 2017 Mondeo. After a day of updating all possible software at the dealers it turned out that the intellegence of the active guidelines are inside the rear camera. Had it replaced and there were the lines back again.
Hi @bertclaesen
Iāve swapped the camera for an identical part number and it still doesnāt work. Iām yet to go to Ford to see if they can re-enable it but worse case Iāll live with the blocks and sounds.
Would just be nice to get the lines back. I do have another camera I can try (AliExpress meant to be the same part number camera)
Mine does exactly the same thing. Is yours a diesel? If petrol, do you have the LIN New Module in either BCM or IPMB??
Are there any current Ford techs on this site that can confirm whether IDS will be able to do the LIN new module initialisation for me?
Petrol - 1.0 EcoBoost.
Iām currently hunting down an unrelated steering angle sensor fault but when I had ForScan plugged in yesterday I donāt remember seeing LIN New Module or LIN Calibration at all in the service procedures - I might have to get another extended license and the latest beta version and see if the option is there then.
Though the dynamic lines wonāt work at all on mine while the steering angle sensor is faulty so wonāt be for a little while yet!
Are you back @F150Chief
He is not. I believe next week but canāt find his text with dates.
Thanks @bill32399
ForScan should be able to do that for you.
@Rollback_Jockey
It should but it canāt, not ford diesels anyway.
Managed to source IDS but canāt find it in there eitherā¦ā¦

Response from ForScan team.
Hello,
LIN initialization function is implemented in BCM, so it doesnāt depend on engine. But this function is not implemented in Focus Mk3 BCM.
Different cars have different BCMs. Focus Mk3 and Escape family is EU development (US models are fork of EU model), in contrast of majority other models that are US development (Mondeo Mk5/Fusion, Mustang, F-Series etc). Different families have completely different BCMs, created by different engineers for different requirements and may have different configuration, programming and service functions. LIN Initialization function is available for US version of BCM but not available in Focus Mk3.
In your case the rear camera should work out of the box, without any additional programming. If it doesnāt work, you have to analyse the error code (DTC).
Interesting. I donāt remember you having a DTC for the Camera?
@bill32399
I donāt.
Got a generic camera to try and the static and dynamic lines are displayed, just narrower than OEM. No distance squares though.
I have contacting ford for a genuine updated camera without luck.
This will have to do for now.
Thanks to those who tried to help.
Odd the lines would be different since they are generated by the APIM not the Camera.
They are a lot narrower than original. Iāve emailed Ford again to see if I can source an ORM camera
If the lines are generated by the APIM, why would the distance squares not be on this camera??
The distance squares are also generated by the APIM based on the info sent to the APIM from the PAM. Let me see if I can find a better explanation in Oasis.
So my original camera has the blocks but now no lines but the new camera has lines but no blocks, any idea on the programming in the BCM that is required.
As outlined earlier, the ForScan team said that LIN new module isnāt available in MK3 Focus.
I do have access to IDS if you can point me in the right direction with that.
