Mustang update from Sync 3.0 built 23219, map version: EU 4 14 to 3.3 Build 19052, map version F12

Hello, I’m new here. My name is Ekkehard, and I live in Germany.
I bought a 2017 Mustang convertible ecoboost with Sync 3.0 in January 2025.
It’s in very good condition and has 15,000 km on the clock.
My problem is that no map update is offered on the Ford website. Current software version: Sync 3.0 built 23219, map version: EU 4 14. Ford customer service in Cologne sent me an interrogator file “GB5T-14G386-AD.tar.gz.”
I installed it in the Mustang. I couldn’t upload the XML file
I received to the Ford website because the software version was supposedly up-to-date.
I then activated the automatic software update in the Mustang. Six weeks ago, I was offered a supposed map update on the customer website, but it was again just an interrogator file “GB5T-14G386-AE.tar.gz.”
I installed it in the Mustang and uploaded the received XML file. Since then, the status on the Ford website hasn’t changed.

My question: Can I safely update my 2017 Mustang to Sync version 3.3 Build 19052 with map version F12 using the Sync3 updater?
According to the updater’s analysis, my Mustang is equipped with the APIM model: HB5T-14G371-FAG, 64 GB. Sync version 3.0.23219 (JR3T-14G381-AY)
The updater suggests “refomated” mode when automatically selecting the mode.
Do you have any experience with this? Has anyone done this before?

SYNC Region: EU

Navigation Variant: Nav

Manufacturer Year: Pre MY20

Install Type: OEM

Old SYNC Version: 3.0.23219

New SYNC Version: 3.0.23219

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
no

Update Method: Official Ford

Yes, there should be no issue with that. HB5T-14G371-FAG hardware is fine for this.

You need to read the documents for the Syn3 Updater. When going from Sync 3.0 to Sync 3.3/3.4 you need to reformat the Sync unit (APIM) to load the new software. Once you do this you cannot go back to Sync 3.0.

I sent you a PM…
