my sync 3 update is not downloading to my usb

I have been having issues downloading the sync 3 update to my flashdrive.
i have followed all the instrustions on the youtube videos
when i start the download it almost instantly says its completed, i check my usb drive and it has has the file but there is no storage taken up. (57.6gb is free of 57.6gb)
i plug it in my 2016 f150 and nothing happens

When you select the drive to download to you selected the USB drive on the computer?
Not a Mac, right?

Following Youtube instructions is not the same as what F150Chief has told you to read.

You are probably removing the flash drive too early even though the message is telling you to do so. You will see in the info that you need to ignore that first message and leave the flash drive inserted so that the system reboots and continues with the upload.
Some time later you should see a green stripe with the ‘completed’ message on it. Ensure the engine is running the whole time and do a master reset after the upload is completed.
