Need soms advise for updating map Sync 3.4.21194

Hello everyone,

I wanted to update the map of my 2020 Ford Mondeo Hybrid to the latest version using the official Ford website. I followed the correct procedure and downloaded the update onto a USB stick. However, during the installation, I encountered a MEM_ERR01 error message.

Since I’m facing difficulties with the official update, I’m wondering if it’s safe and possible to use CyanLabs to update the map instead. However, I’ve come across information that suggests CyanLabs may not be suitable for 2020 models. I’m not sure if this limitation applies to the Sync update itself or just the map update.

Can anyone shed some light on this matter? I’m not fully familiar with the technical aspects, and I want to make sure I proceed without any issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

If you have just downloaded the map update direct from the Ford official website (map_8580509305_update.zip), then there appears to be a problem with it.

Apparently the proper F12 version should be rolled out later this month (August 2023), so hopefully that download will install correctly.
