Just used the new version to do an upgrade on my sync, when I got the car a week ago, ( galaxy zetec) it had 3.2, but not knowing, it then said after a week and update was available, so let it do its thing. The first thing that told me there was something wrong was on android auto, the home button went from near driver to near passenger! So i checked the about sync and it said it was/is 3.0.20204! NOT HAPPY, it downgraded itself!! so research done and found this site, joined and here I am, have selected 3.4.21194 as it said ‘current and selected regions do not match’?? but they do in the ‘current configuration’ at the top of the updater!! Why is this happening? Will try this one and see if it works…

That’s because there’s a blank region in the log you provided :

So technically, they do not match. You should not be using Alpha anymore, try the stable one to see if that still happens. Also, try changing that value back and forth to see if “refreshing” solves the issue.

You most likely have a faulty or corrupted settings file that’s not recording your current region correctly.

About the process it self, it seems ok despite this issue: if your current region is EU, then that’s ok. But use a quality brande USB pendrive.

Well, IT WORKED!! Well chuffed. Even done the full format and install in 25 minutes!

My next task will be to get a nav APIM and upgrade that. And steering wheel controls. I am right and saying that they are the same ones used on the mondeo so should integrate easily?
