Thank you for the replay. Waiting for a windows laptop, I was digging a bit into the Sync 3 APIM database as @Rollback_Jockey mentioned in his comment.
So I went and got asbuilt data from motorcraft using my VIN and started to compare the database values description and the asBuilt data. I was also reading this following post about circular volume menu : Sync 3 Volume Graphic changed on display , so that took me to read the database and try to understand what’s going on with the time showing –.– in hope that some parameters are missing. I was looking into https://cyanlabs.net/asbuilt-db/sync3-apim/, and selected THEME. This is because I read before that the partial view of the top menu can be affected by Fmods and enabled functionalities such as rear camera. Well, I have none of that, nor the rear camera, but just led me to read it. Now that I have sync v3.4, here what I found:
-DE02/7D0-03-01: xxxx-**xx-xxxx : asbuilt (01) = Ford Timeless (Blue Theme, Blue Buttons) for sync v3.0 to v3.3. for v3.4 the 01 = Obsolete (Old Ford Timeless, in 3.4 sets Ford MY20 theme with custom Boot Screen).
-Also DE01/7D0-02-01: xxxx-**xx-xxxx, I have asbuilt(01) = 01: Ford/Lincoln (Default under 3.0 thru 3.3) and it means Ford/Lincoln (Not Used in 3.4) in v3.4.
Now my assumption is that the car came with these values as the version that was installed was < v3.3. Then when the owner updated and moved to v3.4, the APIM values are not matching anymore.
I went and entered the test mode of sync 3 in my car, I went to the themes, and I did not find Ford timeless theme, It was selected on Ford MY20. Even applying other themes like ST and RS and so on, nothing is changing in the theme.
My question is if now I update ** in DE02/7D0-03-01: xxxx-**xx-xxxx with (00=Ford MY20 (6.5"/8" Screens) (Old Ford Classic, in 3.4 sets Ford MY20 theme with custom Boot Screen)) instead of 01 as I have in the asbuilt, and maybe DE01/7D0-02-01: xxxx-**xx-xxxx with 16=ST Line (Ford-MY20 w/ST Line animation), could it solve the problem?
What does “Not Used in 3.4” mean ?
Thank you
