This is more of a general question than an issue. I have a 2016 Navigator w/ Sync 3 that I just recently updated to 3.0.23219. My question is if I install the 3.4 version CyanLabs has provided, do I still have access to the troubleshooting/“secret” menu (where you have to press and hold forward search/next track and eject, then it plays the diagnotic speaker tones, etc)? I would like to keep the OEM look of the UI (sorry, the Lincoln version is much nicer than the Ford UI) and was wondering if that was possible.
Ok, so I guess the question is will I still have the OEM look after install or no? Has anyone else installed into their Lincoln? I only see Ford’s for installs on YT
Since 3.4 has a new UI and your car was never meant to have 3.4, the technical and specific answer is it won’t be OEM. Unless you upgrade to 3.3.19xxx…
Upgrading should not change your theme if it’s stock, and if it does you can switch it back via Forscan.
APIM is not MY20+. I’m currently looking into cheap laptops on craigslist. I know that the OBDLink EX is the adapter of choice, so will be grabbing one of those. Appreciate the input.
If you have a 10" screen you will need to use FORScan to correct the screen size setting after you update to Sync 3.4, as the update will reset the screen to 8" in the Navigators.
The Lincoln themes are much better on the eyes in my opinion and can easily be set using FORScan. The APIM database explains the needed settings.
