Radio Presets Not Lining Up

I have updated to the latest version available of Sync3. Everything was flawless until about a month ago. It seems to be only when I’m on the third “page” of my radio presets that once I star the vehicle the channels do not line up. So I have to slide the presets row over to line them up. It stays this way as long as the vehicle is running. Once I shut off the vehicle and restart it the presets don’t line up again. Is this a bug that can be resolved somehow or am I just going to have to deal with it until a newer update is possibly available?

  1. try doing a master reset

  2. when you say latest version are you referring to the latest build Ford supports on your vehicle (3.0.23219) or 3.4.23188?

  3. If you went to 3.4.23188 try downgrading to 3.4.21265

Its doubtful that we’ll see any newer builds of 3.0.x or 3.4.x.

If you have updated to 3.4.23188 then yes, there is a bug that causes this.

Regardless of what media is present when you shut off the vehicle sync will often return to something else on restart.

Apart from downgrading as suggested you could do what I normally do.

When entering the car wait 10 seconds or so for the Ford logo to roll before starting the engine. Hopefully when you then start the engine sync will start where it left off before at last shutdown.

If this works for you don’t ask me why…perhaps the delay helps sync ‘decide’ where it was before.

I had the same issue upon restarts when sync would always revert to FM radio when left on USB music but this ‘method’ always works for me.

Please keep us posted.

I have done a master reset as well as doing the 10 second wait before starting as mentioned above. Neither one resolves this issue. It’s also weird that it only happens when I’m on the third set of presets that is an issue. If I shut off the vehicle while on either of the first two it starts up properly.

Just for curiosity, run the Interrogator Utility and look at the RWData value for the storage.

If you get a MEM-ERR04 trying to run the Interrogator Utility this would confirm the RWData partition is an issue, Follow the instructions to perform several SOFT reboots and then a master reset.
