Also, the USB you are using seems generic and cheap…

Yes, that really looks like a really bad USB pendrive.
It should work once you get a decent one like SanDisk.

I redownloaded without Gracenotes and its working on the truck as we speak.
Thought maybe that was the case. If it works and I get a nice USB that’s not Walmart brand, can I reformat with the Gracenotes you think?
Cheap USBs are hit and miss.
The install process is intensive, so they give up sometimes.
If you managed to install everything but gracenotes and if you do not need a good USB besides for this upgrade, I would simply install gracenotes on its own to make the installation complete and perform a master reset afterwards without buying a new USB.

Yep, if the upgrade succeeds, reconfigure Syn3Updater since you would be on 3.4.xxxx, create a new USB with no maps update, and unselect everything else so that only gracenotes is selected.
Yep, as I said before, the issues you are having is because you are using a potato as USB 
Get a good one and redo everything, it should take about 30 minutes (or less) to complete.
If you want to try recovering the unit until you get a proper USB, one thing you could try is creating a NO-NAV upgrade USB without gracenotes… since there would be less files to process, maybe your current potato would be able to handle that… Once you get a proper USB, you can do everything from scratch once again.
