Screen is only 1/3 of regular size after the sync with nav update

Is this the solution? Thanks?

You came from Sync 3.0 which does not support the Lincoln MY20 settings. Due to this, the Sync 3.0 asbuilt must be adjusted for the upgrade to Sync 3.4.

The APIM asbuilt from the factory under Sync 3.0 is set for the Lincoln Next (Gold Theme, White Icons) theme. In Sync 3.4, this setting default maps to D544 (Lincoln MY20) with bootscreen theme. The issue is that Lincoln MY20 is an 8 inch screen theme, not 10 inch. The proper mapping will be Lincoln 10L MY20 (10" Landscape Horizontal). Since the asbuilt is set incorrectly, the test settings don’t work quite right, as there is a conflict in the theme mapping. Some would say this is an issue that Ford did not address, but in fact it is not, because Ford never intended for your APIM to have Sync 3.4 installed.

That being said, you will need FORScan and an OBD2 adapter to fix the issue.

This is the factory asbuilt for the APIM in your vehicle. The offending setting is highlighted.

If you have FORScan or UCDS and can read the ASBUILT data, check the highlighted value. This is typical for the Navigator with 10" screen.

You can find info on FORScan here. You do not need the paid version.

ok. thank you. I will order the OBDLink EX.

Is this the correct cable? It looks like this cable is for PC.

It connects your laptop/tablet with a USB port to the vehicle OBD connector. That is the correct cable. Do you have a Windows laptop or tablet?

windows laptop. i ordered the cable.

I’ll leave this thread open. When you get the cable I can help you thru the settings if you desire…in the mean time, read the FORScan documentation.

Thank you. I should have the cable on Monday/Tuesday

I got the cable one day early. I installed the Forscan, downloaded and installed drivers for the cable.
Connected it to the Lincoln, clicked the connect button. After it was connected, it was reading all the DTC codes. I need to understand how to access the asbuilt for the APIM

I found it under Configuration and Programming.
APIM Module Configuration (AS BUILT format).

I did see a code Code: B108E - Display

Additional Fault Symptom:

  • General Signal Failure

Status:

  • Previously Set DTC - Not Present at Time of Request
  • Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC

Module: Accessory Protocol Interface Module

Clear all the DTC’s and rescan so you know which ones are active.

I cleared the DTC’s. All codes are gone.
I am trying to figure out how to read asbuilt for the APIM.
Thanks

I have a 2018 Lincoln Navigator & the same thing happened to me, but now my screen won’t come back on & the music goes in & out. I don’t know what to do.

I don’t think the free version has an option to do diagnostics. I tried to do it for APIM and it doesn’t look like the option is available.

Thanks
Victor

You need to do the same as outlined in this thread…

Thanks, but I’m totally lost. I have no screen & no sound. Taking it to the dealer will probably cost a lot of money :smiling_face_with_tear:

Can you please start your own topic?

Sorry for making a mistake and installing the wrong version. I am now following the instructions.
I will report back today after work.

Thank you!

It worked. It was very easy after I followed instructions.
Thanks for all the help!!
