I have updated to Sync 3.4 and everything is working fine. However, there is one minor issue, I am unable to find speed dial option to store numbers in the phone section. I have tried locating number from the contacts and keep pressing on the number to get the speed dial/key pad option to store the number in speed dial however nothing happens.

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
Nil
Neither did I know that. I know you can store your phone contacts on sync3 and contact them by voice provided you request the name exactly as listed on your phone. For example ‘call Bill mobile’ instead of just ‘call Bill’.
For this reason I would not imagine there is a need for speed dialling on sync.
Hello Wiz043, yes you can store the phone numbers in quick dial function ( I was using it in Sync 2) however it is missing from Sync 3. Is there anyone who has done it in Sync 3.4? Please shed a light on it.
Yep. One other feature I’m aware of is the genre specific scan of FM stations. The ACM’s still capable but the menu options disappeared in Sync 3.
I’m going to take a wild guess is that it is probably gone in Sync 4 as well. Feels like something that they expect people to just use voice commands for.
Is it hard to incorporate these features back in Sync 3. I think someone with coding skills can write the code for them. Is there anyone out there who can bring this speed dial feature back. It is so easy to dial the stored numbers without taking your eyes off the road for long.
I, personally would not be taking my eyes off the road for some seconds whilst driving to access a phone contact or even to access speed dialing if it was available.
In any case I don’t think the system will allow me to use the sync screen to dial a number or make any other adjustments to the phone settings whilst the car is moving for safety reasons.
My passenger wife tried it once and it just sent a message on the screen ‘phone actions disabled for safety’ or something similar so she just dialled the number on the phone itself which later came through the car speakers as normal.
However I could have used voice control from the steering wheel so my eyes didn’t leave the road…
Thanks for your input guys. I do agree, we shouldn’t be taking our eyes off the road however if you have to call someone it’s easier to call through speed dial if the number is stored there. Voice control is scratchy most of the times and sometimes call a different person if there are similar entries. And the screen lets you to dial a number whist driving.
Admittedly you have to be clear in your request and know how you have the contact listed on your phone.
Normally you are mainly calling 3 or 4 favourite numbers so it’s just a matter of time to remember how they are entered on the phone contacts.
