Diego

Is this an 8 inch screen or 4 inch screen?
Yes it is 8GB. 8" screen, no nav.

it is 8 inch screen without browser

Did you try this and what was the outcome…?

What version of Sync are you currently on? 3.4.xxx?

If you are on 3.4, do this…

Download 4U5T-14G381-AN_1552583626000.TAR.GZ.
The file can be found in the APIM IVSU Database.

Follow the instructions below:

  1. Create a USB drive (format as EXFAT) with a SyncMyRide folder.
  2. Copy the file downloaded above into the SyncMyRide folder.
  3. In the root of the USB is the autoinstall.lst and DONTINDX.MSA files which you can obtain from any upgrade you previously performed.
  4. You will need to edit the autoinstall.lst file so it looks like the example below:Autoinstall.lst contents:

[SYNCGen3.0_ALL]
Item1 = 4U5T-14G381-AN_1552583626000.TAR.GZ
Open1 = SyncMyRide\4U5T-14G381-AN_1552583626000.TAR.GZ
Options = Delay,AutoInstall

  1. Insert USB in vehicle and wait for the installation to complete. You should see a message indicating completion.

This should force a downgrade to 3.3.19052 and then you will be able to upgrade using the Syn3 Updater app from 3.3.19052 to 3.4.20196.

Hi F150chief,
Still unsuccessful attempt.
I will keep trying. Thanks

Did the unit downgrade to 3.3.19052?

I have another trick if it didn’t…reduce the size of the voice file and return storage. When you run this you won’t see any results outright, except the language will be wrong. Don’t worry, when you do the reformat thru the Syn3 Updater this will get fixed.

Ranger Wildtrak 2018 Non-Nav ROW (This is just a note for me…fill out the vehicle in your profile if you could, please.)

Download https://ivsubinaries.azureedge.net/swparts/5U5T-14G391-CL_1580862907000.TAR.GZ

  4. You will need to edit the autoinstall.lst file so it looks like the example below:

[SYNCGen3.0_ALL]
Item1 = 5U5T-14G391-CL_1580862907000.TAR.GZ
Open1 = SyncMyRide\5U5T-14G391-CL_1580862907000.TAR.GZ
Options = AutoInstall

  1. Insert USB in vehicle and wait for the installation to complete. You should see a message indicating completion.

Now do the downgrade as before…

You will need to downgrade to 3.3.19052 and then use the reformat tool to install 3.4.20196 with voice and Gracenotes. Apparently it looks like someone tried to install maps on your unit, hence the maps partition. The reformat tool will free up that space and allow you to upgrade. Choose downgrade in the Syn3 Updater and choose NON-NAV, or no maps. And ROW for the region.

Good morning, I have tried and I know that it does not matter updating but it never ends, there will be another way to do it

Thanks F150chief for the tricks.
Let me try and update the status.

Diego,

Try the procedure directly above to reduce the size of the voice file. The unit needs more storage to process the downgrade.

F150chief you are my idol, when I did the voice command theme I fixed the problem that I had that he spoke to me in another language. I am already fixed. I’ll see if I can downgrade it later, but what interested me was that the language was perfect, just thank you

Could you please run the APIM utility again and post the storage data before you do the downgrade? I would like to see what the storage looks like now.

Thanks, Diego

F150chief this is what you want me to post? Now I can downgrade without any problem?

Well, this worked. Changing out the Voice file for a NAV version file freed up significant storage. You should not have an issue running the downgrade and update to 3.4.20196.

Just follow the SYN3 Updater instructions and it should work…

@anutta_anuttaro this is where you need to get to be able to upgrade.

F150chief, I have to repeat it to you, you are my idol, I could downgrade it now, I just need to update it, which version do you recommend for the sync that I have with little space

All of the Sync 3.4 versions are close to the same size. The thing that made the difference here is the VOICE file. We installed the voice file for a NAV unit on a NON-NAV system. The NAV app voice is less than half the size of the NON-NAV counterpart. It also fixed your language.

Now that you have 2.3GB available, let’s try to go directly to 3.4.20196. To install 3.4.20196, use the below script and replace the filename. If this does not work, then downgrade and follow the path below…

Summary

So the next step for you is to downgrade. Do this separately from the upgrade to 3.4.20196. Remember, we are NOT installing maps so you DO NOT need to do the reformatter.

  4. You will need to edit the autoinstall.lst file so it looks like the example below:

[SYNCGen3.0_ALL]
Item1 = 4U5T-14G381-AN_1552583626000.TAR.GZ
Open1 = SyncMyRide\4U5T-14G381-AN_1552583626000.TAR.GZ
Options = AutoInstall

  1. Insert USB in vehicle and wait for the installation to complete. You may see a message indicating completion. The unit should reboot.

This should force a downgrade to 3.3.19052 and then you will be able to upgrade using the Syn3 Updater app from 3.3.19052 to 3.4.20196.

To install 3.4.20196, use the above script and replace the filename.

Hi F150chief,
Still no luck to release the storage by updating the voice file - [5U5T-14G391-CL].
I will try to update with smaller size voice file - [5U5T-14G391-EM]

Could you post your new storage data…

Hello, what is the app to see the storage space of the apim?
