i dont know if the tar.gz file matters if its a WinRAR it keeps staying WINRAR
It finally works, i did the recovery which worked and then the acutal update. Its been updating for 1h30 and i think its like 60-75% done. Its been 30min extracting the gracenotes package so hopefully it will finish soon.
Update: the update has taken 3 hours and its still been stuck on extracting gracenotes package for almost 2h+
Well, a full EU reformat should not take more than 60 minutes, but you mentioned before that the USB was slow. But it’s not normal, no.
At this time I would first try recovering the unit so that you can still use it, so one way for doing so is just installing the OS part without any maps, that should take 15 minutes or so and won’t stess the USB.
So the recovery worked installing only Sync 3.3. Then you’re in the process of the full upgrade with Sync and maps. Since this is EU it takes at least around 60 minutes. Don’t rely on the status bar, it is very inaccurate. It is not a priority in the scheme of things. Hopefully the vehicle is running and/or on a charger and does not shut off.
Where did you get this USB hub? What is the model number on it? Maybe a pic of the front of the USB hub also.
So the main problem before was the USB like some of u said it recognised it for a bit but then not anymore (i received the new usb port only yesterday) and its an replacement port from the ford garage. (HC3Z19A387H) i will attach an image.
I used the recovery usb it took 20min and it was fixed.
I then did the update it went fine but i had to go eat dinner and it was like 95% done under an hour but then the car fell out bc it was in accessory mode.
I then after dinner restarted it with the update usb, it went smooth but then when it hit the gracenotes extraction it took like 2 hours and i just gave up.
This morning i put the recovery usb back in (because my mum is taking the car and she wants the radio) and it took 5min to recover. So when she comes back tonight ill try the update again.
My cyanlab update is on reformat, should i change it to auto detect or keep it in reformat? I don’t have the MY20 thingy.
