I’m curious if I’ll be able to swap to the USB C 3.1
(HC3Z-19A387-B) after updating to sync 3.4 ? Anyone with this done already ? Does it fast charge? Addtional parts needed ?

I did this USB-C upgrade on all my Ford’s and they work fine. You will not get Fast charge though. The USB ports are powered from the APIM and it does not have the amperage to do it. No SYNC 3 APIM’s had this. Not sure on the SYNC 4 APIM’s.
No additional parts are needed.
i second what @bill32399 said i used the ML3T-14F014-AB part number for my 2016 PIU, it doesnt fast charge but it does a better job than the dual usb i had previously however it doesnt fit the hole it goes into as far as locking into place but ill eventually get around to improving some way to get it to stay. it fits snug but will slide out if you pull on the usb wire thats plugged into it.
