SYNC 1 to SYNC 3 upgrade on 2018 PIU

Just ordered everything. When I’m setting up the APIM can I use the easy menu? Or do I need to go into the AB for everything? Appreciate all the help, I definitely thought it was going to be much more complicated.

I haven’t ordered the auto HVAC unit yet, trying to find some confirmation that it will work with the PIU. I don’t care about dual zone, I just want the automatic climate feature

2018 FPIU Non-sync to SYNC 3 retrofit

You can add the controls, but it will not work in true auto. The FPIU’s are missing the hardware for this. You would have to replace the HVAC unit. Both @RD4154 and I have converted our PIU’s. I have a 2015 and he has a 2016 which is the same as a 2018. Here is the 2018 APIM plug C2383 [C2383A APIM.PNG]

you also followed up by saying “You need more than an HVAC module to make it work. It’s missing the door and the actuator in the HVAC unit itself. You can add the actuator and wiring but there is no door inside the unit.”
Is the door and actuator needed for auto temp control? Or is that for the dual zone features? Sorry for all the questions, I’ve almost got everything I need.
