sync 2 to 3.4, 2016 ford explorer active guide and camera zoom lost

i have a 2016 Ford Explorer, just did a sync 2 to sync 3.4 update from a company, gave the VIN, and they programmed it. My original Sync 2 system for the reverse camera is per Ford’s description, rear only parking aid equipped with visual park aid alert, manual zoom, fixed guide lines, and active guide lines. After performing the update, all I had was the fixed guidelines. I do have access to ForScan, and with this forum i was able to get my visual park aid alert to work, as well as the button for the manual zoom but it doesn’t actually change, and there are no active guidelines. From my understanding, Sync 3.4 came out for the explorers in 2020, when they changed the rear camera to a coaxial instead of the lin camera that I have. My question is because of that the apim is not sending a lin message out for the camera/communicating properly to the bcm for manual zoom and I also dont know what the 2020 explores use for the active guidelines, but is there anyway i can program it so I have the zoom and lines?

SYNC Region: NA

Navigation Variant: Nav

Manufacturer Year: Unknown

Install Type: Retrofit

Old SYNC Version: 2.3.10

New SYNC Version: 3.4.23811

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
I do have a code in the APIM U023B, lost communication with IPMB. This is for vehicles equipped with front and rear cameras, which mine does not have, so I don’t have an impb. I haven’t figured out how to fix that yet

Update Method: Official Ford

What do you have at this location in the APIM?

DE01/7D0-02-01: xxxx-xxxx-*xxx

The camera issues are more than likley all due to the IPMA setting in the APIM. Once that corrected they correct themselves.

right now it is 7D0-02-01 (5553)(0B04)(E475)

You could try switching that to a C to remove the rear camera splitview that would use the IPMA.

okay, i wil try that today after work. thanks

okay, made the change, the dtc went away, still no guide lines. i do have an as built sheet from a 2019 that has sync 3 and the system operates similarly as my old sync 2. would it be worth it to try those codes to see if it does anything?

You need to drive a few miles for the guidelines to work again…

Try doing a Lin Bus calibration in Forscan.

okay, so i did try the lin bus, and also drive it for a bit as well as a steering angle sensor calibration, still no guide lines or camera zoom. going to look at some more operation descriptions to see what i would be missing
