Hi, bare with me, I’m not very computer literate.
I have a 2015 F150 , Canada build, I bought it used in the US. Had factory sync 2. I bought a sync 3.4 Chinese replacemnet kit on eBay. I have 2 issues I’m hoping to find help with.

  1. The map is inaccurate, when turning the truck on, it accurately shows my location, but once driving it gets further from actual location. I believe this may be related to a Imhotep/mph issue. I have all settings changed to mph that I can find. Nut getting into the diagnostics pages , the bezel diagnostics/APIM/location page shows “vehicle speed: 0.0 km/” . Is this something that should be changed thru forscan? My friend can and has used forscan on my truck to change some other things in the past. He has a Canada built F250 and says he has a similar map problem.
  2. The back up camera worked normally the 1st day I installed the unit, but now the picture is very glitchy and then a message appears that says “camera is unavailable. Contact your dealership”. Prior to replacing APIM the camera worked fine.

So is this a Canada sold vehicle with a KPH speedometer IPC? If so you will need to replace the IPC for an MPH unit if you are going to use it in the US. You cannot change this in FORScan.

The camera issue is likely a compatibility issue due to the old style casmeras and newer APIM (or a Chinese knock off).

When I start the vehicle, I can change the digital speedometer from kmph to mph by pushing the OK button on the steering wheel, the other values I’ve changed to mph in the settings. Just the one place in the diagnostics menu that still shows kmh I can’t find where to change.

The camera issue, are you aware of a fix ? Should I find a newer camera ? Ok my ‘15 the camera issue mounted in the trim piece around the tail gate latch.

Looking at replacement back up cameras on eBay, looks like model years 15-17 are the same. If I order one of these will I most likely have the same issue I’m having now?
Is there another recommendation?
