Sync 2 to sync 3 U2100

Hi, ive upgrade my sync 2 unit to a sync 3, everything seems to be working but im getting code U2100 Initial configuration not complete. Any help greatly appreciated.

SYNC Region: EU

Navigation Variant: Nav

Manufacturer Year: Pre MY20

Install Type: Retrofit

Old SYNC Version: 3.0

New SYNC Version: 3.4

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
Fault code U2100

Update Method: Official Ford

Where did you get the custom config from?
You can’t use the one from Sync2.

It came out of a Ford edge the same as mine. Plugged in and worked.

Run the Interrogator Utility and post the XML here…

Doing a Sync2 to Sync3 upgrade even if the donor unit for the for the APIM is the same model but a later year doesn’t mean it will “just work”.
The APIM may need custom changes due to differences that exist in the logic and/or other modules in the car.

Hi, The spec was slightly different had to knock off cooled seats, I have done this swap on a focus st and a kuga with no issues. As I stated everything is working as it should just wondering about the code and if anyone has done this conversion before might need to do a module reset, se if that works.

Those are also C1CMA platform cars where the Edge is a CGEA 1.3, entirely different HVAC systems. Can you post your asbuilt for the APIM and FCIM…and the xml.

These are the photos it took of the as built of the sync2 and the replacement sync3 unit. Will gather more info when i get home.
Thanks.

This looks to be a US export Ford Edge sold in EU.
Where did you get the Sync 3 asbuilt?
Did you change the ACM (radio) module?
Does your vehicle have Start/Stop?
Turn off electronic horizon.

Hi,
I re input all the as built data again and the fault code cleared and hasn’t come back.

I seem to recall you need to write all or something to clear that error, it’s been a while since i looked in to it but i think thats the solution, would match up with your experience also
