Hi, i’m new to Sync 3 and the forum. I have a 2014 Ford Fiesta Titanium. I recently upgraded from Sync 2 to Sync 3, just the screen and APIM module (ACM is the same Sony that the stock car has).
Everything seems to be working fine, except that the radio logos (FM/AM) are not showing. Same happens with Album Covers when playing from Spotify via Bluetooth.
The upgrade was made by a 3rd party as i did not have time to do it myself, so i don’t have acces to log files.
If someone need any more details i can provide. Thanks in advance!
PS: I have Calm screen enabled. I provide this info as i have read somewhere that this and radio logos are somehow related (FORScan code maybe?).
Yes i did. In fact, i even succesfully installed NA Voice and NA Gracenote (master reset after this aswell), in order to have more free space. But the issue still persists. I might try a Sync update tomorrow, from the 3.4.21194 to the latest one which is 3.4.23188. But TBH i don’t understand what is the reason behind this as i have GraceNote installed.
Gracenote reads art based on say music on a USB, it doesn’t apply to Spotify.
FM station logos are based on the ACMs ability to provide them and usually are only populated if you have a DAB ACM.
I believe i’ve seen some examples of people playing music via Spotify/Bluetooth and the cover arts of each song was showing. How do i achieve that?
On the other hand regarding radio logos, i also thought that it was APIM related since we can change AsBuilt Hex in order to have that option (according to AsBuilt database on the forum). I orderes myself an Elm327 amd will try to enable it to see how it goes. I don’t have Dab, i just want to show Am/Fm logos from the logo package i loaded.
Music via Spotify is being played via AA or CP, those provide the album art with a fall back to GN (you’ll see a setting for that in the APIM, works the same way with USB music).
With a BT audio source this is going to come down to what type of connection the device provides. Straight audio like you get out of a set of headphones has no data attached for the APIM to work with.
So if i understood correctly. There is a setting to achieve this when playing music via BT, by changing some config in the APIM? If that is the case, do you know the config description or memory adress by any chance?
The OBD scanner is arriving tomorrow so i will start playing around with it on the weekend and see where it goes.
i guess it is something related to the apps not working for me then. Is it possible that apps do not work in a determined region (South America in my case)?. Because when i try to search for apps it doesn’t fin any which seems weird.
