I also upgraded from sync 3.3 to sync 3.4
I have 2 cars and both seem to have some issues with 3.4
S-max vignale (2017):
- Navi way off: sometimes when i start the car and drive, the navi current positions seems to be off by some 200 meters… after driving some mileage the correct position of the vehicle is found and navi again shows driving on a road and not somewhere in a field…
Transit Custom limited (2019):
- Navi card settings changing: I have set my navi card displaying as Heading up and disabled Breadcrumbs. After some engine starts the nave changes this back to North always up and Breadcrumbs enabled !
For both cars: since i live in Belgium we are used to have an Azerty keyboard, when searching a poi/address/… in the navi, it is possible to set the keyboard to Azerty/belgium… howevery this setting is only kept als long as the system is powered on, after power cycle this is again set back to qwerty !
Any info for those issues?
I already did a reset on both, but this did not fix it.
I know, but I had an issue with starting my car and the ford logo was there. It was like the sync crashed. So just to rule out anything
For the smax, do you have build 20237? This build is known to have issues with GPS, so I would recommend updating to 20351. For the transit custom, I’ve never had this issue, so I don’t know what to tell you.
Try contact ford dealer for get the TCU update. Mine have it yesterday. The speed of Sync 3.4 20351 is almost x2 faster after the update from the dealer. My car got also all update that the dealer can do. But a much better car and faster system.
I agree Chief… Yup, I will replaced it when I will have a budget to purchase. 
Any idea what would be the right part number for the USB hub that I need to purchase and where is the cheapest one?

I used Syn3 Updater to update to 3.4.20282. I would like to update to 3.4.20351 and update Gracenotes . I started to download the file and noticed it was set for downgrade. If I do this will I have to go back and upgrade to 3.4 again? Also I would like to know if the upddated Gracenotes will give me album art?
It shouldn’t say downgrade unless you chose that mode manually. Make sure that you have 3.4.20282 in your “current configuration” page and “autodetect” is selected. Make sure you also choose to “keep existing maps” if you have nav. It should then create a USB with 3.4.20351 and the new gracenotes package for autoinstall. Gracenotes should give you album/artist art for specific media sources (such as USB, bluetooth, etc).

If it’s not displaying for anything at all, then go to audio->Sources->USB or BT audio-> go to settings->media player->check if the gracenote option is turned on, but I recommend keeping the priority article set to media player so it can use both gracenote and the raw id3 info and use id3 if it is available since gracenote might only have the artist image without the cover art.
This all seems ok to me. Give it a go, it should reboot once and then continue installation for Gracenotes.
Thanks for the reply. When I checked to keep existing maps it no longer went to downgrade.

Where I am wanting album covers is when I am on SiriusXM. On the right of the screen is a square box that should show this. All I get is a musical note in the box.
Gracenotes does not work with SiriusXM. Although Sirius sends the data, the system does not display it for your model year.

Sorry to hear that Gracenotes does not work with SiriusXM on my model year. I have a 2019 Ranger that I updated directly from Ford to Sync3 to 3.4.20282 and it shows the album art. Did not have it before the update.
I updated my 2018 Explorer to 3.4.20282 from Cyanlabs and it does not show the album art. The Gracenotes version on the Ranger is 1.1.1.2220 and on the Explorer the version is 1.1.1.1332. This is the same Gracenotes version the Explorer had before the update. Do you think updating to Sync3 to 3.4.20351 will update my Gracenotes version?

Yes, there is a new Gracenotes package that will be downloaded when you update to 3.4.20351.

Is this the same as using FORScan to update the f/w to the latest build?

We are discussing build 20351 here, so this is the one installed.
Previously i started with build 20282, but i noticed that both cars would not proceed at the extracting voice part … it stayed on the screen forever (like 2 hours)… i restarted the procedure and than i worked…
However the issues mentioned were also on build 20282.
