Sync 3.4.21020 - Feedback & Issues

Hi Everyone - Had no issues and super snappy NAV lookups on my 2019 Fusion Hybrid.

I migrated from 3.3.18201 directly to 3.4.21020. Then had to do it again since I selected wrong maps update (west only). No memory errors so far (if that is expected).

Also for anyone interested once I upgraded the MyFordPass app now shows the following:

GPS Location of car
Lock/Unlock/Start
Tire Pressures
Oil Life
Hotspot Usage
Scheduled Starts

Previously it only showed lock/unlock/start, oil, and miles to empty.

UPDATE:

Navigation displays on dash for both Native NAV and AndroidAuto maps
USB connection to AndroidAuto configured bluetooth automatically (not sure if did before).
Bluetooth Audio is NOT skipping. Samsung Note 20
Bluetooth Audio shows album art (seemed to only show Gracenote previously)
FM Channels are showing text stream
All controls on steering wheel work fine.
Improved FordApp functionality (on original it was spotty at best)
FordPass properly passes address lookups to native NAV via bluetooth
Ford + Alexa works (did not before).

QUESTION:
Does anyone know a way to have the AndroidAuto display in the mini-map on Ford home screen? I like that for general driving home screen vs AndroidAuto

Now i have been running the 21020 withe the F10 maps. Everthing looks good, but sometimes if i get in the car and start the car the sync tells me languish is set to danish and sometimes if i get in the car i see a countdown bar tells me that my car is going into battery save mode. I can also only listen to musik 10 minutes and then it go into save mode and shout down if the engine not is running. This was not before on previous version. USB musik seams still to lag some times like it does in previous version. Mater reset has been done and even battery unplug also. Forscan also try to reset/reboot APIM modul

I had the same issues, it is because you screen is locked, try it with you screen unlocked and phone being active screen.

Updates the 3.4.21020 vers. today on my Ford Fiesta 2018. Wifi connection with my xiaomi Mi9t work’s now, wasn’t the case with 3.0 firmware. But the FM station research (List) don’t work’s yet. It always seeking when i use it. Rds fonctions with the keys fonctions.
Every thing else’re ok.

Released for NA MY19/20 vehicles with Sync 3.4.x.

Caution: This update contains a script to rename the autoinstall.lst file to autoinstall.bak, which will prevent the installer from running again unless the file extension is restored.

The update package also contains new Gracenotes file for NA.

MY2018 F-150

I recently updated from Sync 3.0 to 3.4.20120.

While I was navigating around the UI, I decided to bring up the test menu (hold next track buttons on wheel and dash).

There you can try out some other built-in themes that come with Sync.

With 3.0 build 19205, there were a bunch of themes listed, but only the Lincoln themes would make any changes, and it was just the colours.

After cycling the vehicle on and off, it would revert back to the stock theme.

With 3.4, I was able to get into the test menu, and I tried out a Lincoln theme, and it changed the colour scheme to various shades of grey.

My curiosity got the best of me (as usual), and I decided to try another theme.

I selected an “ST” theme…

Well, it did change the colours, but it also changed the UI layout completely, and with what seemed to be a completely different aspect ratio, as buttons and menus were only half showing.

Unfortunately, it was impossible to navigate to the settings menu to go back into the test settings to re-adjust the theme.

I thought I was S.O.L, and would have to re-install the 3.4 update, but after a quick Google search, I found out to do a soft reboot of the unit (hold radio power button and next track button for 5 second).

After a quick reboot, it had reverted back to the normal 3.4 theme.

I didn’t think to take a pic or video at the time, as I was slightly panicing (just slightly… )

Hopefully this helps someone else whose curiosity may have gotten them in a little trouble…
