Sync 3.4.22110 & 2021 Maps - Feedback & Issues

I guess we are almost sure now that Sync 3 is not being maintained/updated by Ford anymore (i.e. Sync 3.4.22110 is likely to be the last update) :worried:

There will likely be bug fix or security updates but not feature updates. Ford must support Sync 3 for a number of years yet, just as they did Sync 2. I don’t know what the end date is…but there will likely not be future development.

I have this problem also after the update. Focus 2019

I installed 21265 again and now everything works again.

thank you for the installation I came across this forum by accident when troubleshooting problems with sync 3 Ford Edge 2018 reinstalled 3.0 20204 to 3.4 22110 everything works so far only I don’t have an active brightness button

Exciting ! According to the fmods website, SYNC3.4 22200(NU5T-14G381-AA) is coming soon. Also new apim calibration file has been released. The name is 1U5T-14G374-EM .

Just waiting for ADMIN to jump in here

Did you get the tiresome voice control sorted out, I have just updated and have the same issue with being asked to spell every word in an address ,or when asking to find a POI

Upgraded from 3.0 to 3.4.22200 with nav. No issues that I can find

2016 Lariat with tech package

@tomshepp - I have exactly this issue too, using the official Ford update route!
Have you managed to get this sorted and if so how??

Sync 22100 & F11 maps

I have tried a Master reset but to no avail.

No. I use the previously stored destinations and type in the new ones. Voice command is a thing of the past with this “update”

Thanks for replying, looks like we will have to wait for a Sync and F12 maps to sort this out.

I rolled back to 21165 and kept the F11 maps. The voice control system behaved in exactly the same fashion. Bother!

Oh dear, so even rolling back wont help then. Great, just like @Mark-UK-62 says, looks like we will have to wait for the next update.

Does anyone know if any of the Sync developers actually read these forums, or how we even put our bug complaints directly to them?

Are you talking about navigation voice?.
If so, downgrading Sync3 version won’t do a thing, since Sync3 uses a different voice package than the Navigation System.

You could try reloading the NAV Voice files manually. The Ford packaged updates are noted to mess up the installation of the NAV Voice files as the scripting loads too many files at once and exhausts the free space available. But the installation will report completed. You did not post an Interrogator log file, you should run that and do so.

Ah! Thanks Sandman and F150Chief. I did not know that they were two discrete voice systems. That now makes sense. So to summarise, I need to make up a usb stick that has the earlier BAG files and an autoinstall file which should then overwrite the existing voice files. Is that right?

I used the Syn3 application in the downgrade method, which I presumed formatted the system and reinstalled everything from scratch.

Should I use the app again and do a map only install and just select the 4 voice files

Well, that killed it good and proper. Upgraded to 22200 and all was well. Made up a USB with the earlier voice nav program files and the app 22200 which loaded just fine in 25 minutes and bricked the nav system.

Logically the voice nav system will not talk to a later map so that is a non starter.

No, use the proper files for the maps version you have installed. Do not mix files.

Your posts are fragmented and confusing. Where is the system now? Does the NAV work properly?
