Sync 3.4.23188 slow boot up / compass malfunction / Bluetooth won't turn on / no Apple Carplay

I have a 2020 F150 with Sync 3. My Sync randomly started to boot really slow, the ford logo animation is very laggy on start up, followed by a black screen for an extended duration (2-3 min) and then the Sync screen finally loads. After the screen loads, I have a lot of issues.

  1. My Apple Carplay will not appear when my phone is plugged in.
  2. The compass on the home screen (and the dash) are stuck on north.
  3. I can not switch the Bluetooth on. The switch on the screen does nothing when pressed.
  4. I can not turn Mobile Apps on. The switch on the screen does nothing when pressed.
  5. If I turn automatic updates on, the message appears saying it is on but the switch on the screen does not change to on.

What I’ve tried:
Several soft reboots.
Several hard reboots (unhooking battery and pulling sync fuse)
Several Master Resets
Multiple usb cables

The Sync system has worked properly for short periods of time since this started but it did not seem related to any of the things I tried. It seems to have gona away now and has not functioned properly for quite a while now.

APIM is faulty and needs to be replaced.

Thanks for the reply. What is your reasoning for coming to this conclusion?

Your list of issues no doubt.

Unless you left info out, than your list of issue are what leads me to it going bad. These items are common in bad APIM’s.

Have you tried the RWData Cleaner in the Syn3 Updater app? It could help

Have you run the Interrogator Utility to look at the APIM storage and health?
