Sync 3.4 not updating to 3.4.23088

Trying to update my 2017 Ford Focus RS Sync 3.4.22200 system to Sync 3.4.23088. When I insert the USB drive into the car it blinks for about 2 seconds and shows the updating message at the top of the display but it never finishes. I’ve let it run for over 30 minutes. In the past when I’ve done updates the usb drive indicator light would flash for awhile as it was copying the data off of the drive. That doesn’t appear to be happening with this update. I’ve tried more than one USB flash drive (different brands) and both had the same result.

I’ve included the logs from Syn3 Updater and from Interrogator. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Probably a silly question but I will ask it anyway…is the engine running during the upload with any engine 30 minute cutoff disabled?
Also, does a green upload progress ‘stripe’ appear at the bottom of the screen during the upload?
It should not take more than 30 minutes if no maps are involved.

Your APIM does not have a lot of free space.
Using Syn3updater, create a gracenote removal USB and run it against the unit, that should clear enough space for the upgrade to run.

But before running the upgrade, you need to create a new upgrade USB without gracenotes selected. That should install the build you want without issues.
Once that the system is upgraded, try running a new interrogator log to see how much free space the unit has. Maybe it will be enough for installing Gracenotes separately.

Also, why do you have MY20 protection enabled?.
Do you suspect some component being MY20 on a 2017 car?

Your instructions worked perfectly. I was even able to re-install gracenote after the upgrade.

The MY20 protection wasn’t on purpose. I wasn’t worried about something being MY20 on my car. I know it is all 2017 since everything is stock and it was bought new.
