Sync 3.4 update making WEIRD NOISE

Hello guys, can someone please help me here? I updated my Ford Escape Titanium 2017 from sync 3 v2.0 to v3.4 using cyan Mac Method. But after the update, there is a weird noise coming out of the system nonstop. DOES ANYONE ENCOUNTER SIMILAR ISSUES?

SYNC Region: NA

Navigation Variant: Nav

Manufacturer Year: Pre MY20

Install Type: OEM

Old SYNC Version: 2.0

New SYNC Version: 3.4

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
No

Update Method: CyanLabs Manual Method

Does the latest update show correctly in the ‘about sync’ section and does everything work ok, including Nav?

Also did you complete a sync master reset after the upload to the car?

Yes, the About sync showing everything correctly and I did Master rest after updating, twice. The nav is working too, the only issue is the noise coming out of it.

Deleted…in this case I made a comment about trying a Syn3 Updater auto update but then realized you were updating with a Mac and it had to be a manual Cyanlabs update.
I cannot cancel the message…only adjust it.

Sorry…The only other things I can suggest is to try a couple of soft resets or try the update again with a different USB stick or perhaps try an auto download from a windows PC.

Can you provide more information? such as what the “WEIRD NOISE” is, buzzing? fan noise? beeping? etc etc

Is a noise like the CD drive is running but this happens after the car is turned on and runs for a few minutes. If possible send a video here I can forward the sound so you can have a better understanding.

Thank you

So is it the cd drive? if it sounds like a CD drive and it runs for a few seconds, it’s probably the CD drive?

There is no CD inside the drive, the sound is coming out of the dash so I can’t tell what exactly is making it. All I know is, it happened after the update, like the whole system is overrunning

Yeah without way more diagnosis on your end there is no way we are ever going to be able to tell you what the issue is, you need to find where the sound is coming from.

I will have to go to the mechanics to do that and then to find where exactly the noise coming from.

You could pull the fuse for the APIM and ACM and see if the noise is still there. The info for the fuses will be in your vehicle owners manual.

+1 for pulling fuses, also this thread may help.
