Sync 3 APIM not turning on

I got an apim from my friends 2018 f150 as it died on him and I gave him the apim out of my fusion (hit a deer and waiting on parts to fix) both screens work even when swapping the good apim into both vehicles, I’d like to try and fix this one instead of buying a new one. I have tried all the common resets, FORScan doesn’t communicate with it. Ideas of how to fix would be great, even willing to send out to get repaired if it comes to that.

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
No error just black screen, no logos

Doing something at that level over the internet is rather impossable. Unless you have the equipment to do SMT and can test it than it would be best to just replace it.

I’m looking into putting together a bench test harness, I’m not in a rush to get it working rn but would like to try before spending more money on a module

Cant blame you for wanting a test bench but I think your gonna spend more time and money on trying to fix it than just getting a new one.

This is what you looking at inside the APIM if your curious. Not very friendly to troubleshoot. I have worked on a few.

I have opened it up just to look for burnt circuits but didn’t find any

Any non electrolitic compacitors are usually the problem.

I’ll have to take a look later, if you don’t mind giving me a dm maybe you can help me check and compare values to see if we can find the problem
