sync 3 call answering issue

I have a 2016 Ford Mondeo Zetec with Sync 3 version 3.0.23219. I’ve had the car nearly 6 years, most of that time if someone calls me I can answer the call but I can’t hear them and they can’t hear me. If I hang up and call them straight back everything works absolutely fine. I’ve done several updates to Sync & Maps, tried several master resets, battery resets, checked DTCs using FDRS and checked for updates on Ford’s PTS, no APIM updates available, only updates available are for ABS & PSCM. I’ve tried APIM configuration but nothing seemes to make any difference. Anyone have any ideas. Would I be able to update Sync 3 to Sync 3.4? or is the hardware different?

no error message, just the call answering issues

Is with all phones that connect to your SYNC3 or just your phone?

Seems to be all phones, it did it with my Samsung Galaxy S8 and its doing exactly the same with my Samsung Galaxy S23

Have you deleted the phone from Sync and then paired it again?

Delete the phone from Sync.
Perform a Master Reset on Sync.
Delete the Sync connection on the phone and reboot the phone.
Once Sync is ready, pair the phone again.

It is important to perform a master reset on Sync and to reboot the phone to clear cache information for the connection.

Yeah, I’ve done that. It’s the same issuewith 2 different phones
