Hello,
I bought my Ford Expedition 2018 new from the Ford Dealer in Kuwait. The car came with non-navigation Sync3 system. The system stopped working two months ago and the auto technician determined that the Sync3 APIM module board is shorted out. So I replaced the defective non-navigation Sync3 APIM module board on my Expedition 2018 with a navigation board ordered from China. The system worked with China map with its home set to Shanghai. I flashed the module with Sync3 Updater with the following parameters:
Region: Middle East, Africa, …
Version: Sync 3 3.4.22200
Map Version: Q4 - ROW (Middle East and North Africa)
The upgrade was successful, but I get “Navigation Fault” error message whenever I select the navigation menu item. I also get “GPS data unavailable” when I select GPS option to set the clock. I can fix these errors by re-flashing the module with the following parameters:
Region: China
Version: 3.4.222000
Map Version: 1.19 (2019) - CN
However, this is not useful not me as I am located in Kuwait and the displayed map is for China.
I am guessing that the board came from factory with its IPIM and IPC region set to China and it must be changed to Kuwait in order for the navigation to work correctly with the Middle East maps. Could that be the case? If it is, then is there a step-by-step instructions on how to set the region of APIM/IPC using FORScan?
Thank you.
