Gentlemen , I am an amateur , I want to update my sync 3 to ver.sync 3.4 , radio with navi . APIM is from 2019 but has MY20 . I have pasted above Logs from the radio , a picture of the settings and the radio number . Can I do the upgrate to 3.4 without worrying ? I don’t know where to ask

MY2020 you have to follow the FMods jailbreak path.
One you have the unit jail broken (3 step process) you can then use their tool along with the Cyanlabs Updater in reformat mode.

Read the instructions CAREFULLY, once you get to the reformat, there’s no going back and if you brick the APIM its either a new APIM or sending it to someone to get it reloaded with a bench rig.

JR3T-14G371-FFB is a Ford Service Replacement APIM which is MY20+. Do Not use the reformat tools offered here. The unit has 3.0.19205 installed now. If you want to bring this unit to Sync 3.4, your only option is the JB offered by FMods, as stated above.

Just a note here, an earlier J series APIM would work better with your 2013 Kuga rather than the replacement MY20 unit. Also, upgrading to Sync 3.4 for that vehicle could see some features not working as they should, like air conditioning controls through Sync 3.4, as older CGEA 1.2 systems were slowly deprecated in Sync 3.4. I would research these one the Kuga/Escape websites before doing this.

Process tree

  1. Load the jail break (this can be a bit frustrating)
  2. Load FMods daemon
  3. Load FMods Tools
  4. Load FMods reformat tool (follow the screen prompt)
  5. Insert CyanLabs prepped USB created with upgrade method of reformat
  6. Once it starts, don’t touch it until is states it is complete.

hey , I have already downloaded all the points , I only have pnkt left. 4. Is this Load FMods refomat tool the same as Universal Reformat (SyncRenovation) or something else?

That would be it.
When you do this my recommendation is that you take the car for a drive, it takes about 30 minutes give or take for the reload to complete.
That way you don’t have to worry about idle timer, etc.
