New SYNC Version: 3.0.20204

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
None

Update Method: Official Ford

Are you able to try with an Android device?.

I am sure you will need to upgrade your USB module. 2016 had the old ones that did not work with Carplay. Do you get an error message about this?

Yup, me too, although AA should work

Hi there,

I had exact same issue in my 2016 F150. Updated from sync 1.0 to 3.0 via official ford usb method. Sync said it had updated to 3.0 and I bought the CarPlay compatible usb hub… still no CarPlay. I ended up using Cyanlabs update to 3.4 and this fixed the issue. Delighted to have CarPlay in my truck. Hope this helps.

Could you share your exact update build code? And do you have nav? Exact same issue here. 2016 f-150 with nav, upgraded from 1.0 to 3.0 20204 a few days ago and upgraded usb hub this morn PN: HC3Z-19A387-F, still no indication of carplay or android auto. I originally ordered HC3Z-19A387-B from local dealer but the F is what I got, ive seen B F and E thrown around in forums so i didnt think much of it. Just trying to confirm before I do something irreversible to my unit

Hi there,

I upgraded to exact same build as you (from 1.0 to 3.0 20204) and upgraded to hub part number HC3Z-19A387-F (which, as far as I understand is just a newer version that B and E etc). I have a 2016 F150 with nav. Still no CarPlay.

When upgrading with cyan labs I chose the most recent update that was available last week and used the manual method as I don’t have a PC. I think that the process of the cyan labs update formatting the module was the key to success (but I’m not too tech savvy so I’m not sure). The update happened quicker than I anticipated, around 45 mins.

I understand you hesitating before the irreversible update. I was nervous, but I’m very happy I went ahead and have CarPlay working as I’d hoped. Good luck!

Stephen.
