Sync 3 usb hub not working

Hey I was wondering if anyone has or had the issue I got. I updated from a sync 2 to a 3. I’m pretty sure the apim is a 1 gen because it comes with 2 usb port on the back. But I bought a carplay module hub and it says the usb is not regonized it turns on but it wont work I did connect a cable on the other usb port and that port does charges but wont read a usb so I can update it.

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
sometimes a message would appear saying that it doesn’t recognized usb

Update Method: CyanLabs Manual Method

Care to inform which version the unit is running?
Does Android Auto work?
Are you referencing the “hub not supported” message?
Does the USB work for median playback from a pendrive?

Did you buy a cheap Chinese hub that are all over the internet?

Hey! I bought the hub at a ford dealer

What’s the model number on that hub?

Should work fine.

Did you buy an adapter for the power to the hub?
USB is the black connector on the APIM, the gray connector is not used.

yes, I bought 2 different one. But it turns kinda blue around the port

Then you have power to the hub if the light turns blue.

If you have not updated to Sync 3.0.20204 or Sync 3.2+ then the hub will not work. What version is installed?

2.2.16280 it should this one here. I cant update it because it dosent read/connect to the stuff I plug in to the hub

Put the old hub back in, do the upgrade, then replace the hub.
Use the automated method.

It is possible that the Sync 3 unit has an issue with the USB port bad.

Would the sync 2 hub work?

Not sure if the Sync 2 hub will work on Sync 3. Never tried it.

Did you try both USB ports on the hub?

well I can try, because I got another hub but it is the same it wont work

Yes, the other port on the back of the apim does work in terms that it charges

Found out the problem, it was the car usb cable

That’ll do it.

Also by any chance do any of you know if this is a nav or non nav apim?

Run an interrogator log against it to find out
