I upgraded from a Sync 2 to a Sync 3.4 and I cannot get the Volume repeater display to show on the screen. I was able to change settings in FORSCAN to remove the temp and the fan speed but I want to have the Volume displayed when i turn the knob. I saw that someone else had this issue and that is may be the DSP but I dont what he changed the setting to in FORSCAN to make it work!?!
SYNC Region: NA

Old SYNC Version: 2.0
New SYNC Version: 3.4
Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
2.0
I’m curious, if you turn on the fan speed or temp display and see if the volume display comes back. The DSP setting is to either enable or disable the DSP control from the APIM. If you have sound now, it’s likely correct. There is no Volume Repeater setting. (I wish there was…)
Hi i found that my APIM asbuilt data was completely different then what i found online i changed 7D0-01-01 to 0A2A-0102-0313 and it fixed it! it also fixed some other issues i had where it wouldn’t allow me to adjust the equalizer or the fade and balance. I went from sync 2 to sync 3 upgrade from China, I am wondering if there are more settings in the APIM that are not where they should be, do you have a link to the Factory asbuilt that i could reference? If not, this thread can be closed because i resolved the issue.
I have the same problem. Just switched out an APIM sync 3.4 unit from eBay (china) in my 2013 F150 Platinum. I think everything works except for the volume & fan repeater display. Had to change some settings because the GPS initially didn’t work and was getting a U0155 DTC. Would love to get the volume to show. TIA
ok, thanks. I’ll do a search. I do have a driver’s side rear passenger speaker out, so it may be related to that. But when I checked with the old sync 2 APIM troubleshooting the DTC problems, that speaker was out as well. But was working before the upgrade.
Keep in mind that placing Sync 3 into a CGEA 1.2 vehicle that some things will have limitations. (The 2015+ F-150’s are CGEA 1.3) One of those issues is the climate control. CGEA 1.2 vs 1.3 is quite a bit different and was not really accounted for in Sync 3.
7D0-01-01 *xxx xxxx xx– 2221 0001 E2FF
needs to be changed to AA21 0001 E2xx (xx is the parity bits, let FORScan calculate and write those…)
This should fix the audio issues.
7D0-04-01 *xxx xxxx xx–
0103 0240 0022
needs to be changed to
0103 0200 00xx
This will turn on the setting for the Fan Repeater, if it will work…
