Hopefully this is the right place to post this, I’ve lurked in here for years, but never registered. I’ve got a 2022 Ford Maverick Lariat that I swapped to a Sync 4 APIM and 10-inch screen about a year ago, and had everything working at that point in time. I’ve noticed the compass in the dash has been either missing or stuck on North regardless of the vehicle’s direction. I haven’t made any changes with Forscan since swapping this in, and no dealership trips that would overwrite anything. This also seems to impact Carplay GPS, where it’s a little less accurate unless my phone is out, suggesting it’s not recognizing GPS at all. Finally, I’ve noticed in the Ford app it shows my vehicle at a location I haven’t been since ~July (so probably a good indicator of when it stopped working). The app will refresh and show the vehicle online, so cellular is working, but the location does not change.
I can see some threads where others had a similar problem on various model forums. I’ve tried a regular reset with the power and skip forward, TCU reset using Forscan, swapping to another Fakra GPS module in case something is wrong with the vehicle, and verified GPS and the TCU are enabled in Forscan. Not really sure what else I can check on or what to look at next. It’s not the end of the world since nothing is truly broken, but the vehicle GPS position in the app might be nice, and it would be great to have more reliable GPS positioning with Carplay.
Edit: Going into Sync 4 diag mode (like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sxa8CzPm1h4) shows no satellites connected.
