Sync2 - Sync3 Upgrade (Mustang) Steering Wheel Buttons

Hello! We just upgraded a sync2 mustang to sync3 . Everything works finally except the phone pick up button and the previous/next song buttons. Volume -/+ are good.

Any idea?

SYNC Region: EU

Navigation Variant: Nav

Manufacturer Year: Unknown

Install Type: OEM Replacement

Old SYNC Version: 0.0.0

New SYNC Version: 0.0.0

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?

Update Method: Official Ford

Where did you get the require custom config for the APIM from?
You can’t just drop the one that came with your Mustang into the Sync3 APIM as it is for a different version (MFT) nor can you just drop in an APIM from another year or model without the config being corrected to match your vehicle.

“Look for a VIN number of a Mustang that came with Sync 3 same gen same year or one year newer . Load the as-built and you should be good. You might need to tweak it a little bit, but it will be closer to what you have. Just back up your current as-built or use the as-built database.”

Thank You ! And which module should i overwrite?

You would need to overwrite the APIM.
The logic/CAN settings in the APIM have to match the car.

As an example, with a 2013-2016 Fusion MFT to Sync3 you can use a 2017 Fusion as a base, use a 2019 Fusion and you would lose the wheel audio controls and RVC.
