Yes…that is the current version, the new update being released shortly will be 5.23 or something similar.
I assume you are still getting maps free from Ford?
This is my first update to the maps since the car left the factory. I was on ANZ 19 map before.
It says we get 5 years of free updates so mine would expire at somewhere in the first half of 2025. Would that mean I’d need to get a service before then? I wouldn’t pay for a map update as I use CarPlay as primary navigation. The Ford Nav is just a backup solution for me.
Yes, you could get a service before then if there is a map update available or you could do what I do and get them free through Cyanlabs along with the same software updates that are on the Ford update site.
Both map and software updates are often available through Cyanlabs before they are released on the Ford site.
Update- I noticed that the 5 year package for map updates is no longer offered. Makes me wonder if they only plan on updating it for 4 more years now. This is the last year for Sync 2 map updates.
Checking with the VIN of my 2018 along with the VIN of 2020 Escape Ti and they are showing only a single download for this year with no 5 year subscription.
Allowing for being able to buy a 5 year subscription last year, that would make NA2.26 the last year?
Sure seems that way. They must be really liking the subscription model in Sync 4. Well just end up all using Carplay or AA till they go the route of GM and block them.
Toyota did that a while back and finally dropped it, you had to have a $10-20/yr subscription to unlock access to AA & CP.
Annoying as hell when you’re in a rental a lot for work, I actually changed my profile on Concur to specifically exclude a Toyota from being booked for me.
