What I am having problems with, is installing the latest FORD factory NAVIGATION map. I was able to update the SYNC 3 with your latest version, then I attempted to install the map when I received it a few days later. It was going fine, as I let the car idle to install the map, but I did not realize that the car had an AUTO SHUTOFF FEATURE. So, it shut down. I restarted the car, and attempted to reinstall the map, and “NOPE”! I got the following. Please assist

I live in the United States, so did I install the SYN for EUROPE, accidentally? If so, how do I correct it? The NAVIGATION was purchased from FORD on a memory stick
If your unit is not MY20, the fastest way is to just downgrade and reinstall everything from scratch. It’s faster and safer. As long as your unit or screen are not MY20.
If that’s the case, just configure Syn3updater with your current build and desired one, WITH MAPS.
You can also run the apim interrogator, also created with syn3updater, to find more details about the APIM.
Summary: In the log you posted above you have the correct installation for North America (NA). I see you installed the new Sync app, voice, and Gracenotes. You did not install maps at that time, but used a Ford packaged map update later, and it failed because the car shut down.
Your vehicle will shut off in 30 minutes left unattended. This is normal for most of the newer (2015+) Ford vehicles in NA. To prevent this, stay in the vehicle while it is running and open and close the door every 10 minutes.
There are 2 ways to fix this:
Use the Syn3 Updater to reformat the APIM and install the latest Sync app, voice, GN, and maps all in one shot. This method will take about 28 minutes after the initial downgrade to Sync 3.3.19052, which is about 10 minutes. This is the most reliable and quickest way to do this.
Use the Ford packaged update minus the check files and replace the autoinstall file. This installation will take about an hour, and requires you to make changes to the software installation files. The Ford installation package has issues with recovery and you will be lucky if it can recover this using the installation files supplied. It is possible but a lengthy process.
I recommend that you use the Syn3 Updater to fix the issue. It is a proven method and quite reliable.
You will not use the Ford supplied USB.
Since you have used the Syn3 Updater before, it is really just a matter of replicating the installation you did before but adding the maps. This will require a downgrade to 3.3.19052 to enable the use of the reformat tool, which will then wipe the APIM and install all the files.
To set up the Updater for your vehicle, open the app and follow this:
Set your Sync info to the current version (3.4.21265), NA, with NAV. Save those settings.
Go to the Home tab, select a USB drive.
Select the new options: (3.4.21265), NA, with NA 2.20 maps. The Updater should populate the Select Packages box with the files to be used. Just leave it all selected. Notice that at the bottom left of the app it should say the Install Mode is “Downgrade”.
Select Start. The Updater will download all the files and transfer them to the USB automatically. Do NOT interrupt this process or you start over. If you already have the files in the Syn3Updater directory under /Downloads, the Updater will skip the download but still check the file for integrity.
Once this is done, take the USB to the vehicle and plug it in. Make sure there are no other USB devices plugged into the vehicle. This process will reboot twice. DO NOT remove the USB device until the reformat process is finished and you get the message to do so. See the tutorial below.

I found that I had the CONFIGURATION wrong on the SYNC3 UPDATER. The NON NAV version was installed, and that is why I got the error message. So, I redid the download, with the NAVIGATION button ticked ON, and installed it, and went for a drive. The radio MAPS, and SYNC 3 version.
