Update 3.4 20021 to 3.4 20194

How do i upgrade my version of 3.4 to the latest Im on 20021. Do i have to downgrade first or can i select manual config and just select the files that need upgraded ? Trying to get radio logos i have small ones that show on shared nav screen but only on DAB and no logos on audio only screen.

If you just want to update to the latest 3.4.20196 then you do not need to downgrade first. You can use the manual configuration on the app and just select the packages you need.

The 3.4.20196 update has a visual redesign for the audio screens so it may also fix your logos issue.

If you need help creating the USB via the manual method let me know.

i Created it not sure if i have done it correctly. Selected 4 out of 5 files as the 5th is same version according to bezel diagnostics. is that all i need to do ?

Yep, if you selected all the packages that are newer than what you currently have then you should be good to go. Just plug the USB in and it should say “updating system software” on your display. My upgrade from 3.4.20136 to 3.4.20196 took about 10 minutes.

If you like you can upload your AutoInstall file and I can take a look.

Do you reckon its safe to do while i drive to work ?

Yes, the car will do the upgrade while you drive without problems. You might not be able to access the radio or play audio during the update but that’s about it.

Looks good to me. I only had APPS and VOICE as I’m in NA and we don’t use DAB but that’s the the only difference I see. Should work fine

Thanks for your help. Heres the bit without logos.

Gotcha. Yeah installing the update might fix that since they redesigned the UI and a lot of people who didn’t have logos before had them enabled after they updated.

Did it on friday.
First downgrade from 20021, which took only a few minutes and then the update to 20196, which took 53 minutes. Now I have the radio station logos, new background for the audio (either a music note or the logo of the current mp3).
Also the bug that, when playing from USB the player buttons vanish and radio stations are shown instead, is no more.

Thanks I got there too but just did manual upgrade only 4 out of 5 files and took 10 mins. Thanks no fm logos but Dab so happy enough.
