Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
no error messges.
Replacing it and rewriting the AB info with Forscan is one option. U-pull-it yards are a great resource also. Try to get a K series APIM from a 2019 would be the best.
As far as repair, it will not be cheap and more cost effective to just replace it.
This is just based on the DTC though. You could clear it and it could go away and be fine.
Carplay will not work until you upgrade the USB module to a newer one that supports CP. You also will need to use an Apple cable for best results. You should have gotten a warning message about that when you start up your car.
I have replaced the usb module for CarPlay and updated it to 3.0 thinking it would be smooth but my voice recognition never worked, and my mobile apps don’t doesn’t display CarPlay and doesn’t stay enabled. I’ve been trying to figure out what has been going on but it seems like replacing my APIM and writing it to my car is the only bet I have at it working
Once it’s installed, try again and run an interrogator log and share the results (the actual file, no copy&paste). If you can try with Android Auto (since it’s more forgiving), it would be best.. If not, make sure your cable is certified…
I bought the hub ford said was compatible with my mustang for CarPlay, I will do that update today and see what happens, I did clear the apim dtc with forscan but it came right back on
Using F150Chiefs update guide fixed my CarPlay issue, it seems like the sync 3 radios that came out in 2016 don’t like any update past 2.2 build 17011_product(the Version my car shows) thank you so much!!
